Australia

It all started with a business trip. To Australia, you might ask? No, to Indianapolis.
So here it goes: my wife went on a business trip to Indianapolis and visited the Newfields, Museum of Art where they hosted a temporary exhibition about aboriginal art and music. After enjoying the LUME art experience, on the way out through the gift shop, she was offered to buy raffle tickets to support the artist from down under.
More than a week later, it just happened to be that she noticed she actually had the winning ticket and so we drove down to Indianapolis to confirm the trip to Sydney Australia. Australia has always been on our horizon, but now it became reality sooner that we expected.

Sydney

The first few days we spent in Sydney exploring and discovering. We noticed that there are a lot of Asians not just visiting, but also working in stores, shops and restaurants. The weather was perfect despite the forecast threatening with rain. As we suspected, the opera house together with the Harbor bridge added that special touch and always reminded us where we where.

We came back to Sydney and we felt really familiar with the layout etc. It's easy to navigate the public transportation and we used Apply pay on our phones to go through the turn styles for bus, ferry and trains.
We switched hotels, which was perfectly located to enjoy the stunning view of the Opera House.

We were looking forward to going to the opera, specifically we had ticket to Mozart's Requiem. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and it was a great performance with a fantastic acoustic.

The architecture is phenomenal and we were wondering what the construction crew was thinking about how to actually build it and what kind of challenges they would encounter to fulfill the architect's dream.

It was a wonderful morning, when we, unfortunately needed to leave. We took the train from Circular Quay directly to the international airport.

The only thing better than winning a round trip to Australia, would be to win a one-way ticket to Australia. Just kidding. It's a great continent with great people, unique sites and experiences. We have no regrets and we will be back.
